Get Started with DropSyncHow eBay Seller Fees Work
Every time you sell an item on eBay, you pay a final value fee based on the total sale amount (item price + shipping). The percentage depends on your item category, whether you have an eBay Store subscription, and your seller performance level.
Here's what eBay charges on each sale:
- Final value fee — 3% to 15.3% of the total sale, depending on category and marketplace
- Per-order fee — a small fixed fee on every order
- International fee — surcharge on cross-border sales (varies by marketplace)
- Promoted listing fee — optional ad cost (percentage you set)
- VAT / GST — UK sellers pay 20% VAT on fees; AU sellers pay 10% GST
Top Rated sellers receive a 10% discount on final value fees. Opening an eBay Store (Basic or above) also reduces your rate — which adds up fast at volume.
Use the calculator above to see exactly how much eBay will take from your next sale, and whether the margins make it worth listing. For more on getting started, check out our free eBay Dropshipping Starter Guide or learn more about DropSync.
